    The SQL server is behind the firewall.

    The developer said the web server is outside of the firewall. ( I doubt this is right or not)

    You'll only get the option when the OS used is Windows 2008, if you're still unlucky enough to be using Windows 2003 you'll have to use domain groups.

    I haven't explained the situation clearly enough. Imagine the following:

    Cluster = C1

    Servers = S1, S2.

    SQL Server instances = SQL1 (clustered), SQL2 (not clustered).
