    yes, open a command prompt and change to the directory where the hotfix exists then execute the hotfix EXE passing in the PASSIVE parameter as i have shown

    Customer wants me to install SQL Server 2005 SP4 on passive node using passive switch to minimize the downtime.

    How do I do it?

    You can either create an application\group or allow the installer to do this for you. You will also need shared disks, an IP address and a unique virtual network name

    I'm building a dev server for our team and the drives are currently configured as follows:

    One 240GB SSD (Use it for the OS only?)

    One 220 GB SSD RAID 10...

    There is a CPU overhead with compression, since your inserting thousands of rows , make sure you take this into account. other than this there is nothin special needed...
