Are you using the same SMTP server in all cases?
Can you try using gmail\hotmail\yahoo as the smtp server?

I always ask this , but hesitated since other email is getting through, but check your anti-virus settings. Sometimes it blocks email mass mailing worms.

Profiler would work, but you could probably put something together using sys.dm_index_usage_stats too.
