That is so pessimistic. I bet you do backups in case the server crashes too.

Steve's right, should work in both though I don't have a SQL7 install to test on. It will fail if the login is already in the db as a user....

Replication is often a good solution for reporting. It's pretty solid these days and relatively low overhead.

Cant believe you ain't tried it! I'm curious to hear your thoughts once you do. Intellisense in QA would definitely be a productivy enhancer. Both tools are useful, I believe...

One would be snapshot it to another db, then script out what you need. In SQL2K it's easier, use sp_scriptpublicationcustomprocs.

Have you got a .dmp file and a copy of the error log we can look at? SP2 just released, you might consider installing it to see if it fixes...

Did you update stats before or after changing the compatibility level? SQL2K should NOT be slower than 6.5.
