SQL 7 or 2k? If you have SQL2K I'd suggest looking at only changing the columns that matter, not the whole db.

Not that I know of. I usually grab the full text from the lower half of the display rather than trying to expand the column very much.

Hosts might be faster in some cases regardless of the bug - but its a potential headache if the IP changes and no one remembers/knows to change it in hosts!
