  • RE: Titles Matter

Barry, I like the parens. That's a good idea.

  • RE: Titles Matter

I've only had one bad title - Delivery Lead. The client knew what it meant, I knew what the client wanted, but no one else on the team understood it....

  • RE: Titles Matter

Technical Lead isn't a bad title, though I'd like it better if it were Database Technical Lead or SQL Technical Lead. Still, I think most reading the title will get/assume...

  • RE: Access Disdain

A good spirited debate! Access pro's, can I challenge you to write something for SSC that shows the power of Access? Top 10 Access mistakes? Deployment model and source control?

    Also,...

  • RE: Access Disdain

Access users/gurus/MVP's, I'm curious what site(s) you consider to be the ones you use for Access that are similar to SSC, or even your "go to" sites for answers?

  • RE: Access Disdain

Matt, I think that's true of a lot of tools. Few have security baked-in in a way that leads/forces users to build something secure. Security is almost always something you...

  • RE: Infect Your Colleagues with the Learning Bug

Ed, I remain convinced that most people choose to not learn/invest because they so fear "wasting" effort. All it takes it time spent learning one thing that is never used,...

  • RE: Infect Your Colleagues with the Learning Bug

Leonard, for once a "trick" worked out to be a good thing!

  • RE: Mudita: Joy in the success of others

David, nicely done! Maybe the one thing I'd add is that seeing that there are people coming up that are on track to surpass you can be a good reminder...

  • RE: Is It Time To Clear Out Those Quirky Functions?

Jeff, did I just see you plug for Access?:-)

Nice post Phil. I wish we saw more public discussion on this.

  • RE: SSIS Column Export

Budd, for exporting a blob? The next way I can think of is moving to .Net. You'd retrieve the dataset, then write the blob column to disk as a stream...

  • RE: SSIS Column Export

BWFC, no promises, but I'll try to keep in within bounds!
