    I find more often than not, people go overboard on naming standards (in my honest and humble opinion).

    Bear in mind, the server you restore to should be exactly the same (version, sp possibly even cu, but I'd not swear to that one) as your old one otherwise...

    The very worst naming convention I saw was years ago on an AS400 (1981).

    Tables are called files on that machine and reside in a library.

    The naming was such:

    Library001

    ...

    Anything justified purely on the basis of "It Saves Typing" is grounds for the removal of their keyboard, possibly bodyparts depending on how bad...

    If a software application is hard coded to use the "SA" account, you can rename it and then create a new account named "SA" with limited permissions....

    Gary, I think if MS open-sourced the MCM questions and scenarios, you'd fairly quickly find people using them as templates to create new questions and scenarios for newer versions...

    Actually i just moved my SQL server 2000 to SQL server 2008.

    In that case I'd run a full update statistics against all your databases if you've not already done...

    I'm with all of them, and further than that I'd just install Michelle 'SQLFool' Ufford's maintenance script, configure any elements specific to your environment and largely forget about it. ...

    Why? Why would you want more than half of the memory on the server...
