A query specifically about SQL Server 2005 with a reference to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178071(SQL.100).aspx in the explanation seems a bit strange, to say the least. That ".100" should be ".90".

Nice question, terrible explanation. SQL doesn't even have a concept of default values for its various datatypes.
