    You said there are serveral ways, so beside sp_helpfile, what else can I use?

    The system tables directly.

    There is no SQL server provided job to do this for you. You can easily make your own job to get the file sizes for the databases and log...

    Going from 90% full to 1% full would have to be a huge growth, depending on the size of the log file.

    More likely, the transaction log was backed up instead...

    Hi,

    Problem: Restore a db on dev and qa from prod db backup without wipingout permissions. But restored without noting the permissions. All the permissions got wipedout....
