Can you be a bit more specific? What are your trying to accomplish? Are you attempting to automate a current manual process? Can you provide more details about that process? There are a few ways you can do this although I'm thinking about it from the other side. I.E. having Word execute a query and do something with the resultset in the document itself.
If this is for a report that will be standardized and you are tryign to replace Crystal, you could check out SQL Server Reporting Services. there are a variety of output options with that depending on your version.
