Where is the OLE DB for ODBC drivers ?

  • Finaly my developers are digging into bi-dev-studio to start developing SSIS packages.

Aparently they used the OLE DB for ODBC drive in many cases.

Now this OLE DB for ODBC driver is nolonger in the drivers list.

    - What's the alternative to keep on using ODBC ?

    - Where to find this driver ?

    - How to install this driver ?

  • look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\ODBC

using regedit. ( assume ur using windows ). This should atleast point you in the correct direction.

Try using some other compatible engine. Not sure to what datasource you are connecting.

  • Thanks for the reply.

Their biggest issue was it not being available using the connection wizard.

The workaround is creating a connection and selecting the .Net connectiontype for odbc.

So also the rest is "manualy".... that's what they hate
