Trouble with SSRS portion of the upgrade...

  • I am attempting to do an 'in place' upgrade of my SQL Server instance from 2005 to 2012 (enterprise). I have some reports in SSRS and the web page where we upload new reports. Other than that nothing really is exceptional. Nothing but data and reports. No packages, few jobs, no cubes just stored procedures, views and functions in the database engine. When I do the upgrade, the process goes through smoothly except for the fact when I try to access the authentication for the IIS after that, I get an error that it cannot access the web.config file and it references the directory that it is looking. When I check that directory I find that the file does not exist. Can you tell me what I need to do to have my upgraded instance back to a functional SSRS with the ability to upload reports? I assume I am missing a process that configures the new instance to run the old reports. I assumed that would happen in the upgrade if I checked the box for SSRS. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Have you looked in SSRS config manager since the upgrade? Did you back up the DIR where the web.config files was before the upgrade?

  • Yes we have looked at it but didn't see any configuration issues other than what I have already mentioned. While we did not back up the old structure, we have the same structure on another server.
