The Recomended way (SQL 2005) to handle Default Value on Existing Null Enabled Column

    When I design a table, it always contains a datetime created / user created column as well as a datetime altered / user alterd column.

    (the altered columns maintained using a trigger !)

    IMO it is to be considered the minimal audit effort on any object.

    Now if only I could get you employed at this software vendors development department as the lead so we could start fixing the mess (relationally speaking) that the procedural programmers have generated over the past 10+ years.
