The Life List

  • I had only one item in my bucket list for thirty years before I checked it off on July 8, 2011, https://flic.kr/p/aboW1x. On July 21, I made a second trip to Florida, this time to see Atlantis come home. We were right next to the control tower, just 200 yards away from the runway. I have a photo of that, but I didn't have fast enough film in the camera, ISO 400 B&W film pushed to 1600. When I met the commander of STS-135, Chris Ferguson, I told him that Atlantis was the second final flight that I've seen; he guessed Apollo 17 and Apollo Skylab, but I saw the US half of Apollo-Soyuz.

My wife and I got tickets to a practice round of the Masters Golf Tournament in 2015. I wanted practice rounds since cameras are allowed during practice, but not during tournament play. Augusta National is a visually stunning course. Television does not do it justice even with today's high resolution sets.

I've add photographing the auroras to my list. A Corvette is my bucket list car.

  • Never been much of a Corvette fan, but they've grown on me. I did love the Corvette Summer model, but those are too expensive.

  • Heh... not enough coffee... when I first read the title of this article, I thought it said "The Wife List", which is a huge part of "The Life List".

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
