  • And I've noticed that as I've gone to multiple cores, things have gotten better.

    I hope DBAs don't need to learn how to program in parallel computing,

    I think multi-cores are going to do just like larger memory and larger disks did... multi-cores will inspire crappy bloated other-wise-slow code because the hardware will be able to handle it. Get a garden hose to keep the cpu cool when all the crap code hits it... 😛
