SQL Server 2016 SP3?

  • It’s been almost 4 years since Microsoft released 2016 SP2 and I’m wondering what happened to SP3 given that they usually release one service pack a year during mainstream support https://xender.vip/.

Did 2016 join the Modern Servicing Model like SQL Server 2017? Is 2016 SP 2 the last service pack and from now on we will only see cumulative updates??

Microsoft SQL Server 2016 service packs are cumulative updates and upgrade all editions and service levels of SQL Server 2016 SP1 to SP2. This service pack contains up to and including SQL Server 2016 SP2 Cumulative Update 17 (CU17)...

Welcome aboard but that's actually not true, at least not as far as SQL Server 2016 is concerned, which is up to sp3.

To be honest (especially since you copied and pasted from an out of date source), be advised that your post looks and smells like a precursor to spam. If you're a spammer, please go away. We're watching.

If your not a spammer then, like I said, welcome aboard. You'll find some interesting stuff here.

Be advised that your post looks and smells like a precursor to spam, especially considering your other replies, which hadspam links in them just long enough to say you posted a link and then removed the. Please go away. We're watching.
