I think that more than only getting votes, we should make a list of bugs and send it to Microsoft!

Oh, there are a ton of bugs. As SQL Server MVP Hugo Kornelius blogged, Microsoft has said there hasn't been enough feedback requesting it. That's why it's important to go to the Connect site and vote for it.

That is good news, but I would be very surprised to see SP3 released before Spring 09.

service pack 3 is on its way, this year, but you should continue to apply the cumulative rollups - we could have a poll on which CU will be the last before SP3, it was suggested 255 at the meeting I was at .

Microsoft will only support 2 service packs at one time. They are not ready to pull SP1 from mainstream support yet.

not totally true as support for sql 2005 RTM has only just been removed so they were supporting RTM, sp1 and sp2 ( and a bunch of CU's )
