I'm running SQL Server 2000 (SP4) and trying to get the debugger running. The client computer and host computer are the same and it's a domain controller.
I've gotten the troubleshooting steps from the MSDN.(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa937580(SQL.80).aspx)
1) I've confirmed that the debugger is installed
2) I've run DCOMCNFG.exe and set the permissions...
3) put the sqldbg.dll and sqldbreg.exe in the SQL Debug folder.
but they wouldn't register....couldn't be found.
4) I placed them in the Binn folder and they registered fine...but debug still doesn't work...and I can't see sqldbreg from the DCOMCNFG.exe screen.
5) I've run sp_sdidebug 'legacy_on'
Still getting the same error that the debugger interface is not installed.
Any suggestions would be much welcomed!!

Service account an admin? I think that was an issue in the past.
