SQL 2012 with SSAS 2008 on cluster

    We have a SQL 2008 cluster which was installed with SSAS as an after thought and SSAS is not a clustered service. The internal customer wants SQL to be upgraded to 2012 and SSAS 2008 to be re-installed as a clustered service (the vendor has not approved SSAS 2012). Is this possible?

    I have searched online and turned up nothing useful.

    Different versions of SQL peacefully co-exist so installing SSAS 2008 alongside SQL 2012 should be fine. They will need to be installed as separate instances - you cannot install different versions as the same instance (AFAIK).
