Hi,
When I try to connect to a remote SQL 2005 server from another 2005 SQL server it only allows me to do so if I specify the port # (servername,1212). Anyone had this issue before?
Thanks.

What kind of connection? Towards what end? Are you shipping data in either direction? replicating? trying to execute a multi-server query? Pls give us some hints here... Are you using TCP or NP?

Thanks for the reply. I go this resolved. I called MS about this and here is what they said:
Actions taken to resolve:
=====
Suggested that outgoing traffic from UDP port is blocked on the Target Server. Enable that and then test connectivity with the Server name.
