Hello,
Is SQL Server returning an error message to the Linux Machine, or can you see any Logon Failures in the SQL Server Log? If so, please post an example.
Using the same Connection String as the ISP, can you connect from a local Client to the SQL Instance?
Can the ISP successfully Ping your SQL Server?

Hello again,
As an attempt at a quick fix you could try disabling "Force Protocol Encryption" in the SQL Server Network Utility.
If that doesn’t work then have a look at this MS Troubleshooting guide:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827422
The Section “Troubleshoot stress on TCP/IP sockets” may relate to your issue.

Hello again,
There are a couple of Threads around relating to the Error Message that you receive which suggest it could be a problem with the Driver your ISP is using. Can you check exactly which Driver they have?
Also, did you go through the MS Troubleshooting guide? Any positive findings from that?
