Q's about SQL Server 2005 BOL And the Microsoft Document Explorer

  • Does anyone know if there is any way to mark up, annotate or otherwise tag BOL for SQL Server 2005 or (and I know this is the 2005 forum but to avoid being accussed of double posting) for SQL Server 2008 for that matter? There are so many pieces of info in BOL that I want to make notes on for myself and those who work under me that use BOL but the best I can determine that you can do with BOL is saving a topic/page as a favorite and that's it.

It looks like the On-Line version of BOL, the one hosted at Microsoft, can be marked up or tagged in some way but not the local copy, the version running on your own systems. The way Microsoft sells the idea of the Microsoft Document Explorer, the viewer for BOL, you'd think it was the best thing since sliced bread.

Any comments, ideas or suggestions on this aregreatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Suresh, you are just refering to the ability to bookmark a page/topic and nothing else, correct?

    Heavy Sigh 🙁

I was very much hoping I read your rpely incorrectly and there was more in the thing.

I just can't understand why Microsoft would continue to limit what you can do with info in BOL and any of the other Document Explorer hosted files. This is something that I'm certain they could easily correct if they really wanted to. And the on-line option isn't always a realistic option.

    Thanks
