  I'm having a problem with OPENROWSET and GETDATASOURCE. These appear to be excellent tools but I cannot get them to work with a UNC. They'll work as long as the Access database is on the same server as SQL 2000 but I get a file is open exclusively or you don't have permission error when trying to connect to a remote server. I get the same error when trying to connect via LinkedServer through Enterprise Manager. Any ideas?

  I've used it, so I know it's possible. Are you absolutely sure you do have permissions to access the file on the UNC path?
