About the "tempdb", here says that it is configured at the smallest possible size.

Interesting question. I found that when the SQL Server starts with a minimal configuration has a tempdb size of 1 MB for the data file and 0.5 MB for the log file.

When I suggested setting a DB to single user mode for applying a fix our DBAs refused, saying it would be too dangerous...
