Linked Tables Excel

  • Can anyone assist in resolving this error (Attached Error)

I did have the Linked Server working on my test Excel Spreadsheet moving to the live spreadsheet it cannot connect and after deleting the current WORKING linked server i cannot recreate the Link.

Its not the 64bit version issue as i have had this working the service is now a LocalSystem no fix Allow in Process and Dynamic Parameters are on in the providers no fix.

The SMSS is running as administrator as well.

I don't know what else to try?

  • I don't know much about your issue but... are you saying that it won't even let you build a linked server and does your linked server cite a specific file?

In relation to your test file, where was it located and where is the "new" file you're trying to connect to live?  By that I mean on a different server than before?

There's just not enough "gazintas" in your post to say much.  More information would be appreciated.  Even the extension of the file you're trying to connect to could be a help.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
