Which pub in Reading? I visit every now and then, as I only live in High Wycombe.

Heh I used to work near you, Gerrards Cross, two contracts about 3 / 5 years ago.
The pub is the Hobgoblin, it's on Broad St next to the Cornish Pastie shop, just after M&S. There are always a couple of wooden tables outside and it's a proper suntrap in the summer. Well worth a visit.

We have a Hob Goblin too, its where I usually end up at the end of the night as its always open late and doesn't attract your usual townies. I know the one in Reading, well, have seen it plenty of times when coming out of the Oracle when shopping with the wife.

I have a feeling getting ahold of the Dr. Hexter's may prove difficult here in the states, but at least I know to snag them if I ever do come across them. I've tried the fuller's and ESB, but it's been so long on the fuller's that i can't really remember my thoughts on them. Only one way to fix that problem!

That's the one. If she's in a good mood, I get to sit outside with a beer while she goes into the Oracle! 😎

I think I might try that one when next in Reading and the sun is out.

It sure would be difficult Seth, but you don't have to come all the way over here for decent beer - have you tried Oregon Ales? Look out for Dead Guy Ale, Hazelnut Brown Ale, Brutal Bitter & Shakespeare Stout. Anybody narrow-minded enough to think that Yanks can't make and enjoy "proper" ale is in for a shock when they sample one of these.

Rogue Dead Guy Ale is actually my favorite beer... I almost said as much in the last post, but got busy and just submitted it. Two Hearted Ale is a good runner up lately though. I was so bummed when the local brew pub ran out of dead guy ale on Tap before I got there the other day... still haven't had it in draft, have only had bottles.
