Does going for certs stand you apart from the crowd. Does it help in this economic climate?

Hi bhavster27,

I think having a certification helps you make it to the interview stage - it's seen as a "nice to have" on your CV.

Once you're at interview stage, it's all up to you...

bhavster27, I am going to echo Mike here.

I have never known a certification to get someone a job, but it can definitely help in getting the interview. I know this both as someone who has gotten interviews because of my own certifications and as someone who has consciously used them as one factor when screening stacks of resumes to decide who got interviews.

Those who have already appeared for exams 70-433 and 70-451 can you please tell us how many questions where asked for each exams and how much time is given to answer them.

bhavster27, the article discusses the number of questions and time. I would not worry about that though. In every Microsoft exam I have ever sat for, I have answered all questions, double checked every single one, and still had plenty of time left over.

That is of course anecdotal, but I think it is safe to say that for someone who reads at an average speed time is not an issue in these tests.

I'm using Self Test Software Practice questions to prepare for my 70-433 exam. When I practise in certification mode the software gives me 90 mins to complete 55 questions. Although I just completed in time all questions in that duration but could not get time to review my answers.

I took and passed the 70-432 exam at the weekend and there were 40 questions, seems pretty low compared to the number listed on the dev track.

As study guides I used the Syngress 70-432 book and BOL.

Unfortunately Microsoft do no seem to be releasing study guides for the MCITP 70-450 exam.
