De-identification of Fields

  • I swear there was a topic on this in the last few months, but I can't seem to find it searching the archives.

Does anyone have any good tips for automating de-identification of specific fields after a certain rolling date?

I have a survey that I need to keep certain data, but remove any personal identifiable data based on a rolling 3 year window.

    Many thanks in advance.

  • What does this mean: "de-identification of specific fields"

perhaps if you post some sample data and required results, we can help.

Obfuscation of personally identifiable information, I believe...

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • i don't know how others do it, but i have a few tables i use for replacements;a table with random values and numbers, another with ANSI colors, another with animal names, and some movie star names, etc

i use them as the seeds for joining or cross joining to randomize data.
