Converting varchar to a datetime datatype

    For the simple reason that's they way the ERP system stores the data, We're in the process of building a conformity process and set standards for this data. 

    Technically you're right but this entire ERP is old and a mess.  My user base needs reporting on this data ASAP.  Work in progress.  As mentioned before trying to improve on the data but still need to work within the current framework.
