Connecting from SQL Server 2005/2008 to an Informix Server

  I've seen posts that this can be done, but I was hoping there would be a quicker way to set up a connection than ODBC.

  We are using a Gigabyte connection, and we're wanting to dump and reload onto our SQL Server nightly. With the amount of information we store on our Informix servers, I am afraid using ODBC would be a nightmare.

  Does anyone have any other recommendations?

  Any would be appreciated!

  Not sure about quicker - but you could always setup a linked server. How you connect to Informix is dependent upon what is available for that system.
