changing @@servername

    What role does @@servername play other than jobs and probably maintence plans? What effect does the renaming of the server using sp_dropserver 'xxx' and sp_addserver 'xx1',local have? Does the serverproperty 'servername' change when you rename the server then reboot?

    Heh... at least try to answer your own interview/homework questions. Look it up in Books Online. If you don't know what Books Online is, it's the free "help" system that comes with SQL Server.
