Does the MDF or LDF have the "Read Only" attribute set?

No, the files do not have the Read Only attribute.
The data files are:
posTerminal_Data.mdf 102,400 Kb
posTerminal_Log.ldf 25,600 Kb

- was the database detached in a propre way ? (detatchdb ...)
- you may be better off with backup/restore

Hadn't thought about that... if the DB was NOT properly detached, the procedure for recovery is quite long. It's do-able, but ya gotta hold your mouth just right while you're going through the steps.
