Hey all
I know it's the subject we all hate, but unfortunately, i've been tasked with "rationalizing" our SQL Servers here, which involves moving Standard >> Enterprise Processor, Standard >> Enterprise Server ... plus gaining a few CALs here and there as well!?
Anyway, Questions are :
Can u directly / easily upgrade from Standard >> Enterprise Server and Processor Licesnses?
Can u "cash-in" multiple Standard licenses when u do this?? (am gonna have spares!! lol)
What licensing do you need for a stand alone SQL Server who's sole purpose is to be a distributor for replication?
... and finally .... HEEELLLLPPP!!!
Cheers

Miicrosoft just released a website to help you plan/cost stuff like this:
http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/mpla/programpage.aspx
However, when all is said and done, you'll probably end up on the phone with a MS rep anyway unless you have an existing support agreement with them in which case they shoudl be your first call.
