Backup database to disk for insufficient disk space

  • I am facing trouble for database full backup to my local disk as there is no sufficient space in any of the disk drives.

Please suggest me the best possibilities to complete the backup.

    Thanks so much in advance.

  • Back up to a different media. For example an external storage device or a network device. Otherwise create more space on the location you are trying to back up to.

If you are using 2008 Enterprise, then you could set the backup to use COMPRESSION.

Excuse my typos and sometimes awful grammar. My fingers work faster than my brain does.

  • Check for old backups (according to your DR plan) that can be deleted, as well.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
