I have a 2012 reporting services instance and a 2017 reporting services instance.
Over 100 reports one at a time, (the dataset source of data needs rewriting), need to move from the 2012 to the 2017 instance.
Each report will need to go through the testing process - technical, power users, then normal user.
Ideally we would like to make a linked report to point to the (new server)/(old server) location once that reports data feed has been rewritten and the report is then live on the 2017 instance, removing the report from the 2012 instance.
I believe that it isn't possible to create a linked report to another server. What we would like is a virtual folder hierarchy similar to the 2012 instance, whereby users can click on a report name and will run the report (in which instance it exists in).
I realise within reports report items eg text boxes have an action property whereby a URL can point to any report on any server, but this is within a report not outside.
