Perfect timing. I've been a SQL Server nut since 3.51, dabbled with PortgreSQL way back in the day, only recently kicked its tires again and was surprised to see how grown-up it's become. I've already started planning the SS->PS migration for my home company as well.

PS Amen to fellow software engineers who incorporate features because they add customer value regardless of the source. ??
Coder since 1977.
Been there.
Done that.
A lot.
Still doing it. ??

Great to hear that it was timely! Also that's great you are learning it, I think you will find it very grown up for all the things it can do.

Amazing that we've had PostgreSQL for 30 years at this point. I remember hearing about this as a post Ingres project in graduate school, but didn't realize it actually became a database in 1996. Quite the history it has. I'd say it's only barely younger than SQL Server, which I started using in 1991.
