Verify no user connections

Disable SQL Agent

Script out DB_Mail profiles

Script out SQL Jobs

Script out Users/Logins

Script out DB_Mail profiles

Save out All SSIS packages

Script out, Linked Server connections,...

can you just try xp_fixeddrives?

If u using express edition then u must specify servername \sqlexpress while connecting..

Change the database compatability level to 100 and make recovery model to full for point in time recovery of database.
