    Update. I was able to get a new large drive allocated to another server running SQL2008R2 and I copied the 140gig db backup to it and it successfully restored...

    That looks like IO subsystem, the page headers are invalid, not something an import could do. Doesn't have to be the drives, could be anything in the IO stack.

    How much freespace are you dealing with? How much freespace on the volume that houses tempdb?

    187 Gig of free space on the drive.

    The error being produced just smells of an issue trying to transfer data across the wire and that there is some sort of transfer issue.

    Is the backend device attached...

    Can't do that. Reason being is the database is just over 800 GIG and I don't have another SQL2008R2 with that much space available to restore it to.

    The restore does start and it does create all of the files on the initialization of the backup. At about 20% into the restore it fails with the message...
