dont think I quite understand, Code is simply data if you could recover all your data then why are you not able to recover all your code?...

I dont think you can blame Toshiba for a lack of source control, as there a plenty of source control solutions that will happily run from a low-grade server

The code that is recommended for SQL 2005 can be found in books on line under 'sys.dm_db_index_physical_stats' .
It is very similar to the code in "DBCC SHOWCONTIG" page

Yes, compatibilty is important. We will also be taking 64 bit 2005 backups and restoring them in 32 bit 2000. Careful testing will be needed.
