Use convert:

SELECT CONVERT( Varchar(12), GetDate(),1)

Robert is correct. Just grant the db_owner role. That gives you all the privileges in the database.

Use the value from EventData to find the machine name. I'm not sure why you are querying less...

When someone reboots a server, it sends a "stop" message to all services. They aren't killed, they are shut down. It's possible that someone might kill the SQL Server service...

I'd use David's technique for a quick count.
