I'd follow Anthony's advice. This is definitely a security issue of some sort. I suspect your installer is somehow running into either incorrect rights, or some impersonation issue.

Full backups don't affect log backups. As long as you have a full to start LS, and all the logs since the full, you are OK.

I would think so, but IIRC, you need to log in with the DAC to avoid these triggers and disable them.

The first checkpoint will break things, as Gail noted. Doesn't matter if you have transactions.

To add to Perry, is you want to separate indexes, you need separate physical drives. Not separate drive letters or LUNs, but physical drives if you are looking for performance...

As long as you aren't causing problems downstream, as noted above, switching to simple is fine. There are people that do this for large data loads as well.
