Depends on what you want. These are all consumption devices, IMHO, with little work being done on them. I have the iPad 1, works fine, but I don't love it....

Just make sure you have good backups. When SSDs fail, they can fail quickly with no warning.

I agree with John, sounds like permissions somehow. Could someone have restricted permissions in folders? Maybe a security lockdown that is overriding the Config Manager grants?
