  • RE: SQL Monitor

What tools? What are you thinking of?

The Management Data Warehouse will do this, but it's a lot of admin, IMHO.

Extended Events or Trace can help, but they are a little...

  • RE: The Load Poll

    Vila Restal (12/21/2012)

Lastly, this method of collecting a poll isn't very efficient for you or the contributors.

Does this blog not have a survey facility or at least a thread...

  • RE: SQL Monitor

We use it here at SQLServerCentral. We expose the data at monitor.red-gate.com. It's delayed slightly and replicated to another server for the public side, but you can play with lots...

I personally prefer SQL Diagnostic Manager (praying I don't get attacked from mentioning an Idera tool on here ;-)) -

Nope, it's fine with me. If you like it,...

  • RE: Those Who Can, Do

    Chris Metzger (12/19/2012)

You know I wish more managers\executives thought this way. It makes no sense to emphasize the cert but not the real-world experience - sometimes some of us...

  • RE: Automated Performance monitor

You don't want alerts when CPU > 80%. This happens all the time in a normal SQL Server and it's not a problem. What you want to be concerned about...

  • RE: Daily Sql server check list Check list

In addition to Gus' question, are you going to manually look through this data every two hours? Or are you storing it somewhere? If it's the former, I think you're...

Sorry Steve, I *HAD* to steal your picture and post it on Twitter.

Merry Christmas everybody if the Mayans are wrong.

    Otherwise... oh, who cares? 😀

    No worries, another one for...

  • RE: please help me tunnig part of below query?

I would tend to agree with Sean. Likely this could be rewritten to function much better and quicker.
