So I think there is a great value in Democratizing data. However, how do we do it and ensure privacy?
For example, at what point do we loose our privacy....

If you use SQL authentication, then the AD and domains don't matter. The name/password combo works for logging in.

I'd still disagree. There are more and more tools available that allow small groups and organizations to do lots with data.

You are welcome. One thing I'd watch is the msdb backup tables. If they're issuing commands through there, you should see things logged. Make sure no log backups in there...

As mentioned by Jacob, you need three IF statements here, not a CASE.
IF @client = 1
delete table 1
else if @client = 2
delete table 2

You said aggregation favors the large. I disagreed. Aggregation can happen cheaply, and with individuals because of low cost computing power and remote access to records.

The way things work is that log chains are separate from full backup chains.
For example, if this happens:
Full backup Monday, 11:00pm
Full backup Tuesday, 2:00pm
Full backup Tuesday, 11:00pm

Aggregation is something that is easy to do if you are large institutionally, so essentially you are rewarding people for size.That isn't democratic.
