My meaning to check compatibility level is for... sometimes guys when upgrade to sql server 2005 or restore sql server 2000 database to ,2005 but doesn't changing their compatibility...

try one thing take full backup first and then take differential backup manually if it works or not ...
now if it works then you make problem to schedule jobs or...

hi, yeh this can be happen for first time of transactinal replication it will copy of your old data as snapshot and restore that into your new server instead...
