Where are the truncation errors happening?

Are they at the flat file source, or the SQL Server destination?

Does running the package as a SQL Agent job work?

You'll need to register that external assembly with SQL Server first.

Can you provide some test data and expected results? That is, a working test harness, rather than just code fragments.
