    what steps are you performing to remove the clustered instance?

    Having resources on node1, I tried to uninstall SQL Server 2005 clustered instance from Add/Remove programs

    i have seen in the path 'Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.n\MSSQL\LOG'

    thr are multiple errorlog file how wud i knw in which file my trace flag is being saved?

    have you removed the Builtin\Admins from the SQL Server instance?

    If not login to the server as the local admin account and gain accessto the SQL Server instance.

    I too have SSMS\BIDS 2005 and 2008 on the same workstation and use BIDS regularly for SSRS and SSIS projects without issue!

    No matter where you run the statement, just use the drop down box in the Query Editor (Q/A or SSMS) and select master to be safe.
