The OS reboot solved everything,
Possibly because its bound itself to a different DC upon reboot
What does the following return on each sql server when run from a command prompt
set...

2012 Std definitely lists Windows 7 as a valid platform but BI and Ent don't, it's in the link i posted

it all depends on whether the failure is known or not. Try it on a test system you'll see how it works
