    its perfectly valid to have instances with different patch levels, this is one of the main reasons why you would ring fence a particular apps database to a separate instance

    does anybody know at what level it checks connectivity to the P & M?

    is it pinging / checking access to the database / checking at the app level? ...

    Hi all

    We are looking at implementing AlwaysOn AG combined with a Failover Clustered Instance of SQL Server.

    First question is why?

    You're taking the decision to implement an AlwaysOn group...

    then when connection is on secondary there are no locks.

    be aware that when you enable a read only secondary in an AlwaysOn group, all isolation levels are automatically...

    I have 10 databases which are configured as principal in mirroring I need to failover all the databases as part of failover , instead of writing query each database...

    why on earth would you want that scenario?

    Firstly check why you have the disconnections, you undoubtedly have an underlying issue maybe with the network (most common)?

    What does a cluster validation...

    I get that totally thats why i said page allocations shift to account for more space in one file than another.

    In a previous database i came across with 52 files...
