    Since one of the nodes is our DR node it should not have a vote

    that is according to all the articles I have read.

    your questions not clear, typically you may offload backup operations to secondary databases.

    moving a later version of the resource database will also stop a patch of the same version installing if its ever needed. I faced this very same issue sometime ago...

    if the user exists as a member of the sysadmin role you do not need to map them into databases, they can do what the hell they like anyway!!

    everything I read would indicate we need a third node (odd number) (e.g. a fileshare Witness)

    No big deal. I get the proportional fill algorithm.

    if one file is 11TB and you add a new file to the same filegroup. Proportional fill will just increase writes...

    I have an issue to restore an encrypted backup via GUI.

    I can restore an encrypted backup on another instance using t-sql command, but cannot do the same...
